AN INVITATION TO A BOOK PRESENTATION
Welcome to the presentation of the just published Russo-Finnish symposium volume on the Enlightenment culture, The Northern Lights - Facets of Enlightenment Culture, which will be held at the Aleksanteri Institute on Tuesday, 31.8 from 14:00 o'clock on.
The Aleksanteri Institute of the University of Helsinki and the St. Petersburg Center for the History of Ideas started last Automn to collaborate in research of the Enlightenment and the culture of the 18th century in the Northern Countries and in Russia. The first publication from this cooperation consists of contributions of five Finnish and four Russian scholars.
The book and the collaboration project will be presented by Prof. Tatiana Artemyeva and Prof. Mikhail Mikeshin from St. Petersburg, by Prof. Vesa Oittinen from Helsinki and Dr. Oili Pulkkinen from Juvaskyla. The presentations will be in Finnish and English. The event, which is open for all interested, will be held at the Meeting Room in the 2nd floor of the Aleksanteri Institute (Unioninkatu 33, Helsinki). Snaks and wine will be served.
